Osteoporosis: Causes, Symptoms and Types

Osteoporosis is a silent disease which strikes suddenly and without any warning. It is related to bones whereby severe pain is experienced around the fractured area. Osteoporosis can be described as a decrease in density of the bones over time. Osteoporosis can be classified as primary osteoporosis and secondary osteoporosis. Healthy bone mass contain with trabecular bone, cortical bone. When a person is infected with osteoporosis the healthy bone masses turn to low bone mass and lead towards causing fewer and thinner trabeculae and a thin cortical bone. There can be three factors that can affect in developing osteoporosis: age, gender and diet. Other causes of osteoporosis are genetics and lifestyle. The effective treatments for osteoporosis include checking out whether one receives extra supplements or not. To suffice supplement levels one should make changes in the diet accordingly by increasing intake of vegetables, fruit juice that have enough vitamins, protein and calcium. Osteoporosis is related to thinness and weakness of bones. Osteoporosis occurs in bones it may occur in the inner or outer parts of the bone. Generally, lack of certain hormones, smoking, genetics and bad lifestyles are main causes of osteoporosis. Other causes of osteoporosis are often linked to high workloads or even personal life. Behavioral risks of causing osteoporosis are smoking, drinking; diet is one of the most important factor, and intake of vegetables that have enough protein, vitamins, and minerals should be maintained. These causes can lead to some other serious disease that are directly associated with aging and to inner parts of the body including kidney failure, liver disease, and rheumatoid arthritis. There are some other medications and drugs which can cause osteoporosis. Signs of osteoporosis have been identified as swelling, joint pains, and difficulty in sitting up straight. These signs are related with bone mass, and continue to go on and lead to fractures of wrist or bones in the backbone become stiffer. Most osteoporosis symptoms are apparent or can strike suddenly including: a fracture of back bone, inner or outer bone site, if enough bone mass is lost, minor pain such as lifting, jumping, or standing in a similar position for a long time. These fractures can cause severe back pain, but sometime they don’t have an identity in the inner bone section. Person suffering from regular activity like coughing and sneezing can also put pressure on the weak bones, leading to fractures. Major and minor are types of osteoporosis can be familiarized with primary and secondary osteoporosis. Primary osteoporosis is normally associated with aging. Hormones like estrogen and progesterone can play an important role by producing at an unpredictable rate thru which bones are completely lost. Estrogen hormone is a major hormone responsible for female characteristics. Progesterone is a hormone in the body that helps to control reproductive functions. Secondary osteoporoses can be caused by certain medical conditions and pills that can interrupt improvement of bone. Such medications and pills are taken in diabetes and in steroid therapy for diseases associated with the liver. Osteoporosis natural remedies include: intake of fruit and vegetables that have enough calcium, protein and vitamins. Person should start a well balanced exercise program that incorporates useful activities like stretching, aerobics and running. All these activities contribute towards strengthening the bones. Medications that have been directly linked to bone mass loss should be avoided under any circumstance.
